W M Beatty 9" hog-splitterwith hand forged laminated cast steel / crucible steel edge, turned hardwood (chestnut?) handle and iron fittings.
This cleaver has seen some action with dings on the side of the blade, and wear on the handle, it came in needing a rust removal (leaving patches of pits) and a refreshening of the edge geometry as it had been poorly sharpened. It been given a good cleaning and a fresh convex edge, ready for action.
