Landers Frary & Clark Universal Carving Set Carbon Steel & Mother of Pearl In Box Early 1909-1965

Landers Frary & Clark Universal Carving Set Carbon Steel & Mother of Pearl In Box Early 1909-1965
3 piece carving set made with carbon steel and mother of pearl with silverplate ferrules. This set was made by Landers Frary under their Universal brand in New Britain Ct. At one point LF&C was one of the largest knife making outfits in the USA and was a huge kitchen equipment maker as well.
This set is likely from the early 20th century, LF&C purchased the Universal trademark in 1909. It's difficult to accurately date the set from the markings alone as the Universal marking was used over a long period of time 1909-1965 roughly but this is certainly from the early range.
Condition is excellent, the blade has seen very little sharpening, it did see a little rust leaving a few pepper spots, rather than give the face a full resurfacing we opted to leave most of its original ground surface. Always nice to find these with the original box as well as they don't survive as well as the individual pieces.
