Washington Cutlery Co "Village Blacksmith" 8.5" Hand forged after drop forged carbon steel slicer from approx 1900 to 1940. 

Village Blacksmith was a brand of Washington Cutlery Co. in Watertown, Wisconsin 

Village Blacksmith made a lot of different knives but this was a very distinctive one based off a 19th century German butcher knife.

This knife was originally slightly wider and has been thinned along its original geometry with a wide hollow ground face to bring it back to its original thickness.
