Unmarked Hand Forged 10.25” Scimitar Carbon Steel USA or UK 1875-1925
Antique hand forged carbon steel 10.25” scimitar with 5 steel pinned beech wood handle, a common construction of butcher’s knives in the USA and UK in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
It is not all that uncommon to find unmarked American butcher’s knives, the makers would add retailers or distributors names to them or leave them blank for others to mark. OEM essentially.
Blade is very full, handle has a small wiggle, otherwise a great example of an old style knife, bonus points for being a scimitar rather than the more common bullnose.
