Unmarked 8" Chef Knife Hand Forged Carbon Steel Solingen, Germany 1950s
Hand-forged after drop-forged and hand ground German chef knife with a lots of taper on the blade spine, walnut or fruitwood handles, and nickel pin and disc rivets. This is the ideal size for many cooks, but is one of the hardest to find in usable condition.
It had been sharpened in enough that the edge was starting to get thick so it has been thinned and re-ground here in the old style, leaving a thin convex face. There are a few remaining pits from some previous rust. Handle is nice and secure and it's ready to get back to work.
