Marks lost on this old original era Ideal pattern French chef knife with hand ground and hand forged after drop forged carbon steel blade and dark rosewood handle with steel and brass rosette rivets. 

While this knife has seen some heavy use and has been shortned from its original 12" it has a straight blade and a wonderful light lively feel, it is a great example of the first generation of this Ideal pattern knife with it's integral ferrule ring bolster and full tang. 

There are possible fragments of markings but there are too many small pits to be able to make anything out.
