NY Knife Co 3.5” Jack Knife Pyralin 1856-1931
NY Knife Co Walden 1856-1931 3.5” jack knife with green Pyralin handle scales, main blade has a nice snap but the smaller pen blade is lazy (no snap) and has a little bend.
NY Knife Co made top quality knives in Walden NY and has a very loyal collector base, this knife is in so-so condition but is still a great example of late NY Knife Co production.
After WW1 DuPont trasitioned it’s nitrocellulose plastic ‘Pyralin’ for non-military use including knife handles. It has a great iridescent 3D quality and is not reactive in the same way that celluloid was.
