Meriden Cutlery Co Carving Set Carbon Steel Crown Stag 1918-1925
Carving set made by Meriden Cutlery Co of Meriden Ct (est1855) during thier later years 1918-25 under the ownershop of LF&C (also of Ct.) as seen by the LF&C "LEE's" mark on the steel.
Meriden made a variety of culinary and pocket cutlery and did very nice carving sets. This set has a drop forged hand ground scimitar shaped blade, sharpening steel and fork with folding guard, silver plated ferrules and crown stag handles.
Blade is very full and steel and fork are free from defects or heavy wear.
Like all other culinary knives this should never go in the dishwasher, carving knife handles will come loose with high heat (dishwasher, stove top etc), carbon steel can rust if left wet or dirty, expect a patina to form with use.
