La Trompette 12" slicer made with hand forged carbon steel, ebony and brass pins made between 1920 and 1940 as seen from the M Pouzet mark. 

La Trompette was an important 19th and early 20th century Thiers brand which exported a lot outside of France early on. 

This style of knife is usually more American or British but there was of course lots of crossover in design as popular designs were picked up by savvy makers outside their place of origin. 

Blade has seen some rust leaving some pits and has been sharpened in a bit, the handle is nice and secure though and the knife is ready to get back to work.
