Jernbolaget California Carver Style Slicer Carbon Steel Ebony Eskilstuna Sweden ~1890s-1920s
Interesting San Francisco "California Carver" style knife made in Eskilstuna Sweden from approx 1890s to 1920s. The humpback on the spine near the handle, and a slight offset in the blade are clear SF style design references. This knife also has a rabbat milled bolster utilized in New England knife-making in 19th century New England. Double American influence on this one!
Blade has been thinned as it had been sharpened in enough to be thick behind the edge, there is a crack in the handle that has been epoxied tight but is there.
