J.A. Henckels 7.25" Semi-Flexible Slicer Carbon Steel Macasser Ebony pre 1870s-1890 *lead warning*

J.A. Henckels 7.25" Semi-Flexible Slicer Carbon Steel Macasser Ebony pre 1870s-1890 *lead warning*
Old pre 1891 J.A. Henckels short slicer with 7.25" forged hand ground blade, integral ferrule, and macasser ebony handle. The ferrule looks to have been drop forged which would place it as post earl 1870s as this was when the drop forged was adopted in Solingen, if it was forged in mold to be used with a smaller mechanical hammer it is older. In the 1890s Henckels added 'Germany' to their marks as the USA was an important export market.
Note: This knife's handle has been set with lead which is visible at the pommel, we recommend this knife is not used with food and only be purchased for a collection.
