
HB Nogent 5.5" Saigner Hand Forged Carbon Steel 1930s-50s
Marked Nogent HB a hand forged carbon steel saigner with a 5.5" blade, and a post and disc brass riveted lacquered beech handle.
Blade has been thinned and re-surfaced as it had become a bit thick behind the edge with sharpening, otherwise knife is in great shape and is super solid.
Saigner are a super old butchery knife design great for use as a boning knife with its stiff pointed blade and large handle that affords a solid secure grip. While this pattern is still in production this knife represents a style of knife-making long gone, hand forged and hand ground but economically done.
