The Pradel pattern originated in Normandy and Brittany and became a popular work knife pattern in the late 19th century. This manufacture style is very similar to many of the old 19th and early 20th century Pradel knives with its pinned handle and spear point blade and a long kick (blade stopping extension on ricasso of blade).
Established in 1870 and still a family run business, Au Sabot makes knives in traditional and original patterns in Thiers, France. They utilize a wide range of new and old equipment and Thiers skilled-handwork is the keystone of their production.
