7" Cleaver WW2 Era Theater Knife
Unusual cleaver with 'theater knife' style stacked aluminum, micarta and brass handle and chrome plated carbon steel factory made cleaver blade.
Theater knives are not knives made for kids that wear black nailpolish and smoke clove cigarettes, they were made on US Navy ships in the Pacific theater especially early in war when there were a scarcity of knives issued to troops. US Navy ships often had power hammers for forging and machine shops to be able to repair damaged equipment and were used in knifemaking, typically fighting knives.
